Stories of Service: My City Encouragement Cards

Last weekend thousands of youth from many churches in Northern California attended the My City youth conference at Capital Christian Center, an event designed to unite pastors and inspire students to impact their circles of influence for God. Serve Sacramento set up a table during the conference and asked local youth to write encouragement cards to inmates who are at Folsom Prison. The cards were delivered during a worship service at Folsom Prison on Sunday evening. Prisoners were visibly moved as some of the cards were read out loud. They applauded the efforts of the youth and were able to receive a note of encouragement to read during challenging times.

Stories of Service: Rancho Cordova Rotating Shelter

The lives of several individuals facing homelessness were dramatically changed this winter because of the coordinated service effort of Rancho Cordova churches. Stories of Service: Volunteer Day at Fourth & Hope

On Monday, January 19th, about 70 volunteers from Woodland Ecumenical Ministries, Friends of the Mission, the International Visitor Leadership Program and the Woodland community came out to celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. through a volunteer day at Fourth & Hope, an organization that offers shelter, meals, rehabilitation and job training to people in need in Yolo County.
