Community connector positions
Before the event our Volunteer Coordinator will provide you with sign-up sheets for the positions listed below.
|ASSISTORS & ROVERS
Volunteers will act as a personal tour guide to assist people through the event. This service is provided for participants who may need extra assistance. Volunteers who are bilingual are especially needed.
PARKING / DIRECTIONAL TEAM
If you have ever wanted to swing a huge arrow like the guys on the corners, this is your opportunity! The parking team will help direct attendees form the parking lot to the building.
Hand out event information to attendees as they enter the event. Encourage attendees to fill out the information portion of their maps and be able to answer questions about the event.
Welcome guests to the event! Volunteers will be responsible for making attendees feel welcomed, answer questions, and ensure the line flow is smooth and progressive.
Volunteers care for visitors waiting for services. These volunteers ensure the line is orderly and that visitors know which service they’re waiting for, passing out water or giving directions as needed. Volunteers who are bilingual are especially needed.
Support the Kids Zone and do activities with the children including games, art projects, coloring projects, and more.
Volunteers will be trained on the WEb Connector technology and will help participants utilize the tool during the event. Volunteers participating in this opportunity should have good computer/iPad skills. Volunteers who are bilingual are especially needed.
Help assist in the Medical Screening area. Help with in-take and exit of the health screening area, hand out materials and collect information on which service attendees utilizes as they exit the station.
Volunteers who are energetic and friendly will help in the Dream Wall area. They encourage attendees to visit the station, share their story of what health means to them, and take their picture.
FARMERS MARKET ATTENDANTS
Volunteers will help pack and distribute bags of food to attendees who have completed their map and evaluation form, and manage the line to the food distribution area. Volunteers will also need to manage attendees’ food bags to ensure that the correct number of items are being packed.
